WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE
Highland Presbyterian Weekday School is known for its Reggio Emilia-inspired approach to early childhood education, which emphasizes inquiry-based learning, self-expression, collaboration, and respect for each child’s individuality.
Children engage in hands-on discovery, art, storytelling, music, outdoor play, and scientific exploration. Teachers act as facilitators who help children make sense of the world through curiosity and reflection.
The school has been a leader in Louisville’s early education community for over 70 years, with a focus on building strong relationships among children, families, and educators.
Faith-based values from the Presbyterian tradition guide the school’s atmosphere of compassion, inclusion, and service, while the curriculum emphasizes holistic growth—social, emotional, intellectual, physical, and spiritual.
