The Growing Place

OVERVIEW
The Growing Place is a Christian-based early childhood education center located at 401 W Main Street, Richmond, KY 40475. Established in 1991, it serves children from infancy through Kindergarten (including an age 4 K-prep class) and is affiliated with the Richmond First United Methodist Church. 
The mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment in which children grow spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, and socially through faith-based care and early learning.

WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE

• The center includes multiple classrooms separated by age: infants (6 weeks to 1 year), toddlers (12-24 months), 2-year-olds, 3-year-olds, a 4-year-old classroom, and a K-prep class (children who miss the cutoff for Kindergarten).

• Curriculum focuses on self-help skills, early academics, social-emotional development, and Christian values—“showing God’s love” in a nurturing setting.

• Small class sizes and a dedicated early-childhood team: staff hold degrees in early-childhood education or related fields and engage in ongoing training to ensure quality care.
