OVERVIEW
Louisville Classical Academy is an independent, non-sectarian private school serving preschool through grade 10 (with plans to expand to grade 12) in Louisville, Kentucky. The school is dedicated to providing a rigorous classical liberal-arts education—grounded in literature, Latin and Greek, mathematics, science, and music—designed for curious, motivated students.
WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE
-
The “classical” in its name reflects the emphasis on enduring literature, Latin beginning in grade 3, seminar-style discussion, and low technology use to help students develop strong habits of thought and reflection.
-
Class sizes are deliberately small (averaging around eight students per class) to allow for deep participation, discussion, and mentoring.
-
Tuition for the 2026-27 school year is published: Preschool (3-4 yrs) ~ $12,365; Kindergarten ~ $13,885; Grades 1-8 ~ $15,300; Grades 9-10 ~ $15,525. The school also offers need-based financial aid with about half tuition typically awarded on average.
-
The school is currently expanding its high-school program: enrolling 9th and 10th grade students for 2026-27, adding another grade each year until full 9–12 coverage. Graduation includes a senior thesis and strong liberal-arts track.
